INCLUSIVE DESIGNMotability
Motability operates the UK’s Motability Scheme, enabling eligible people with disabilities to exchange their mobility allowance for a lease on a new car, wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV), scooter or powered wheelchair. For the disabled community, access to a vehicle means freedom and independence, yet the existing website lacked the emotion and joy that this represents.
As Head of Design at Wunderman Thompson, I led the pitch and oversaw the creative direction, bringing storytelling and the excitement of vehicle ownership to the experience. Championing inclusive design, I ensured disabled creatives were involved throughout the process, bringing lived experience and diverse perspectives that strengthened the final result.

IllustrationMy goal was to ensure we were designing for accessibility together with the disabled community. This led me to Kelly and Emma at WithNotFor who introduced us to our brilliant illustrator Jess Oddi. Through her insights, Jess brought a pure sense of joy into the life of a Motability services user.

From discovery through to delivery, Lisa helped reshape how the brand understood its customers. She championed the idea that choosing a car should feel equally exciting and rewarding for everyone, whether buying through a retailer or accessing one through a government scheme.
Her talent for storytelling brought that ambition to life! We partnered with an illustrator that championed disabled creative talent, putting the audience’s perspectives at the heart of a vibrant, joyful visual identity that breathed new life into the brand.
Some designers speak business. Some business leaders speak design. Lisa does both, and exceptionally well!

I've had the absolute pleasure of working with Lisa since the early days of launching With Not For, and she’s been a true champion of our mission from the very start.
Lisa played a key role in engaging my company to bring in one of our incredible Disabled designers for a major client project, one that proved so successful, the scope was significantly expanded. Her support and belief didn’t just create opportunities, it created impact and most importantly work that tells a story and that will make more people feel seen.
Lisa is everything you’d want in a collaborator, friendly, professional, and deeply committed to inclusion. She is a genuine ally to the Disabled community, a natural mentor, and someone who makes every project better simply by being part of it.
I can honestly say I wish more people I worked with were like Lisa. I look forward to more projects with her in the future.
